It has reached, a benchmark where I come to realise what design is to me, and how it should lead my life.
At a young age, I've always thought design is one where we can be cool about, yet still, earn money from designing things that make people or their businesses awesome. Yet it is a dream that is hard to come by, though alone un-achievable by the simplest of means. Design is a way of communication. A way to speak our hearts and minds out to the public. An expression of varied interest, a word of thought, and a spark of fascination. Yet many continue to speak design as a cool thing, a practice that demands style, posture and overly priced coffee. Design sparks creative, and creative speaks for itself in many ways. As such, the hip culture of decorative designs and style-focused design begin to dominate an already saturated market. Our guides, our leading hands, the design principles - based on the varied belief of well-known designers, such as Dieter Rams, Milton Glaser and many more, guide us on the very journey in design. It fuels, channels and glides the path we tread in overcoming obstacles, building aesthetics and giving it a sense of purpose, ultimately relating to our users. As if the world has fallen to our feet, designers, the communicators of the world, enhance connections and brave the shit-storms people give us. Yet we create as the world revolves, one design at a time. And when the people are given insights into Design thinking, we share greater bonds with people who share our similar beliefs. Design is indeed, a communicator, a show stealer, and a fascinating tool to describe our thoughts, preferences, style, believes and values as a person.
