Subverting the Everyday Life
BA Design Communication | Studio Assignment
Focusing in subverting a Breakfast Set with Stationeries, the challenge was in the study of forms, textures and materials, and to find out the relationship to the contextuals of the environment I was given.
Through numerous attempts both in studio and on-site, hawker settings, the project was completed.
With the use of soft lighting and shadows, coupled with a 'dabao' (takeaway) paper, an icon of hawker fare, and the usual 'teh' (Tea) or 'Kopi (Coffee), and vibrant look-alikes of a breakfast set, the setting is accomplished.
Images below highlights key stages of development, that help contribute to the finalisation of the composition.
